John J. Paulos

John J. Paulos, Ph. D., recently rejoined Cirrus Logic as vice president and general manager of the Industrial Products Division, having served with the Crystal Division of Cirrus Logic from 1993 to 2000. In his current role, Dr. Paulos oversees Cirrus Logic's strong industrial analog and mixed signal products portfolio, which includes ICs for such markets as seismic, power meters and DC measurement.

In 1993, Dr. Paulos joined Crystal Semiconductor Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Cirrus Logic, Inc., as design manager for professional and consumer audio converter products. In 1996, he became vice president and business unit director for Consumer Audio. In 1998, he became vice president and co-general manager of the Audio business unit, which included PC and consumer audio products, and was instrumental in helping the division achieve tremendous sales growth. Dr. Paulos left Cirrus Logic in 2000 to serve as vice president of Engineering for Cicada Semiconductor, where he led the development of several Gigabit Ethernet and T3 transceiver products. Dr. Paulos left Cicada Semiconductor after its acquisition by Vitesse Semiconductor in 2004 to rejoin Cirrus Logic.

Prior to 1993, Dr. Paulos was a tenured member of the faculty of North Carolina State University, which he joined in 1984 as an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering before being promoted to associate professor in 1990. His research program focused on analog integrated circuits, neural networks and MOS device modeling. Dr. Paulos holds bachelor of science, masters in science and doctorate degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1980, 1980 and 1984, respectively.
